Gothic Visions...

Happy Friday beauties...I hope the week has been wonderful for you...today I'm sharing my 'Share in Style' pictures today instead of tomorrow, as I don't post on Saturdays. The theme this week is 'Gothic'...a time period that I very much enjoy...from the art, literature and architecture, there's a lot to discover. I decided to do a more 'Victorian Romantic Gothic-esque' look for my outfit. Very last minute because I kept changing my mind & we had to be quick because light was being lost every second, but the moody atmosphere was perfect for the topic thankfully. I haven't worn clothes this dark since before Christmas really, so it was a little strange to do so once again. The book in my hand is 'The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde', by Robert Louis Stevenson, a classic Urban Gothic work of the 1880's, it's one of my favourites...Robert also happened to be Scottish *wink* so it all ties together! I leave you with a couple quotes from the book & invite you all to join in on Saturday for 'Share in Style' on Sacramento's blog if you want to show your Gothic style too. Have a great weekend my beloved ones!

{The Bottom Drawer} Playful Promises...

Hello Dolls!! How are you?? I hope you're peachy! Well, this is my first 'Bottom Drawer' post of the new year & I'm quite excited! I will be changing it up a bit & including product reviews & fun history bits too, so it's not just sharing companies, but sharing my experience with them & giving you feedback! Exciting :) I've been browsing over this company for a long time. They're the sister company to Whistle & Wolf, some of you might remember them being featured on the blog before - if not, see here & here! This time we're seeing what's underneath with 'Playful Promises' full of sensuous romantic fun without forgetting the vivacious doses of flirty flair. I feel that overall as a whole, the collection covers a wide range of looks and colours. There's also touches of vintage elegance for sweet measure. Based in London and first fashioned by the lovely Emma Parker in 2004. There are now 8 lush ladies in the head office that work to ensure customers are happy & receive their orders - this to me is my favourite part really, I like when women are in charge - lingerie is made for women to wear after all! Not only can you find gorgeous bras & panties, they also carry corsets, quirky gifts & swimwear. I for one could quite happily fill my drawers with any of these beauties...I hope you like them too!!

Have a lush day dolls

The Scent of a Villain!

Happy Monday dreamers!! As you all know, I love fairy tales, but I just so happen to love the villains in the stories to. Without them, there wouldn't be any suspense, thrills or lessons learned! While browsing along as I do, I came across this story of a designer that created an amazing collection of perfume bottles based on the Villains of Disney; It left me amazed! All you ever see are the Disney princesses, so it was quite interesting to see someone's take on the villains. Japanese designer who goes by the name of Ruby Spark, has ingeniously brought them to life, one can only imagine what they'd actually smell like, but it does set the imagination on fire! I feel these are for a certain woman who appreciates a dark sophistication over the bubbly effervescent of the tales respective heroes & heroines!
Ruby states, "When I look at them, they have a sort of mysterious sexiness you'd never get from the princess" and I have to agree. Ruby also states that her inspiration for the set came from musing about the different kinds of perfumes women have to choose from. "Perfumes aren't always soft and floral. Some of them have a tempting character, something that feels almost a little dangerous, even. I thought it'd be wonderful to combine perfumes like that with the motifs of Disney villains".
She has crafted perfume bottles featuring villains from 19 Disney films that span over some 80 years. Sadly, very sadly...Ruby doesn't have an official license to produce Disney merchandise, so right now these aren't available to purchase *cries* But, you never know what might happen, maybe Disney will take note & collaborate with her to make these available...not sure if I'd like to see the price tag, but I can just imagine my dressing table adorned with them...you'll definitely smell villainy ever after!
I hope you like them dolls & wish you a marvellous Monday!!

Electric dreams of blue & green....

Happy Friday my beauties!! Another weekend has arrived...January is quickly leaving us, which is just fine by me, as it will get us closer to spring *wink* The rain was too on and off, so I just took some pictures in the stairwell to suffice!! Not too bad, if I do say so myself *wink* And as you can see, I'm wearing my bracelet by Serena Kuhl..it's absolutely gorgeous. I love these really bright colours, the texture reminds me of an octopus' tentacle wrapped around my wrist, it's so cool. I'm super happy that everyone loved her work as well, I can't recommend her work enough, because these are so unique & worth what you pay, very impressed! Also, i'm wearing my most favourite colour in the whole wide world, the more electric blue, the better...like stunning peacocks!! My tights are actually hot pink, but the colour came out a little darker in the pictures. I hope you have a marvellous weekend dolls & the sun will be shining!

Dainty Street Hearts

Good day dollipops!! It's been raining here & then it's so dark, so I've been unable to take any outfit pictures yet, so since I've not done this in ages - share street styles or styles in general that I enjoy, I thought now was the time to do it!! But, this time around, I decided to show blogger styles that I like too :) And hopefully, the rain here will give me a small break & let me take some photos, haha! All of these lovely ladies are some of my favourite bloggers, I not only love their styles, but adore how different each of them are & dress. I read many many style blogs & I usually end up seeing the same type of outfit more than once, but I don't believe these ladies are the average type of blogger, their truly unique inside & out! I hope you enjoy & maybe find a new super blog to read as well!

Have a gorgeous Wednesday dolls

Sacramento from Mis Papalicos  - well, you should all know Sacramento by now, she is a wonder!! I love her blog & her as a person, she is like a shining light. Funny, creative and has a heart of gold. And never afraid of colour, patterns or bold accessories. I chose this outfit, because the pattern on the dress is butterflies & I love butterflies. Her blog is an array of colour, fashion inspirations, outfits and DIY's! She has proven that style knows no age & just because you are older, does not mean you must fade into the background. A true champion for beauty of all ages!! I love her blog & I know everyone will to!

Sara from Sara is in Love With - my dear dear friend Sara, I love her so. She is the colour fairy for sure. Never afraid to push the boundaries of fashion & expression. From her fluffy earrings to gigantic fascintors with huge cherries on them, bright bold colours splashing here and there...her style is definitely not for the faint-hearted, this Queen of Flamingoes as I call her, is out of this world!! I'm always waiting like a kid on Christmas to see her next style creation. And what is even better, she has a heart as colourful and wonderful as her outfits, am so very happy to have become friends with her through blogging!! A definite must to follow along with & say hello!!

Mary from MaryLou Cinnamon - She's a firecracker, it's always a pleasure to visit her blog - plus there is always great music playing ;-) A charming and gorgeous treasure, we both love a lot of the same things, like Game of Thrones & hosiery! Plus, she is a mighty dress maker, you can always enjoy the things she makes as she models them in her posts, like in this picture! I love how she puts a spin on dressing vintage, it's not just the same old kind of look, it's her & I love that! Charming and witty, I am super happy we are friends!!

Rosy from Sewingadicta - Another cracker in creating clothes like Mary!! I'm always amazed by the things she creates, if you like an outfit on a TV show (See her Mad Men or New Girl Series) she can do it just for you!! Her blog is a must if you wish to learn to make clothes or just sit back in awe at what she will do next. Beautiful and enchanting...I love her tenacity to wear whatever she chooses!! Also her love for vintage dresses, absolutely adore her!! A true flower!

Busola from The Fashion Stir Fry - We found each other through IFB & she is a really genuine gal!! She is always smiling bright in all of her pictures, which I love. Fantastic style and another that isn't afraid to try something new & like Rebecca, I'm in awe at their ability to pose in heels in the snow and cold. Busola is not only gorgeous outside, but most definitely inside too, if you ask her to check something out, she will most definitely do it. Such a beauty!

Rebecca from Winnipeg Style - She found me when I had my other blog up & I instantly loved her creative flair for colour and every outfit I find myself saying the same thing...'I love those shoes', haha! The way she teams patterns, colours and objects together is a marvel. When I was putting together my favourites, she instantly stuck out because like the others dolls here, she is most definitely unique and passionate about style & it's very clear to see. Have loved her blog from the very first day I went there! Like Sara & Sacramento's style, they all push me to wear more colours ;-) Super stunning stylista Rebecca is!!

{Label Love} Serena Kuhl Jewellery

Happy Monday my beauties!! I hope the weekend was peachy keen. Through my lovely Sara's blog, I was able to discover a wonderful designer named Serena Kuhl & towards the end of last year, I was lucky enough to win a piece of her work in a giveaway. So I wanted to introduce her beautiful creations on my blog too. All of these wonders are created by Serena herself with the extraordinary material of resin. She is based in Darwin, Australia.

To me, looking at these is like diving into the ocean blue and discovering some of the rarest treasures in the world. Like being a mermaid on land, explosions of colour and texture. Gorgeous yet easy to wear, they will brighten up any outfit & add something that bit quirky and beautiful. I absolutely adore my bracelet, and it will most definitely pop up on my blog soon!

Serena takes custom orders and can make them in a variety of sizes to fit everyone. From necklaces, rings, bracelets, bowls, earrings, soap dishes. What I love most is the explosion of colours and unique textures all of her creations have, I often find myself running my fingers over my bracelet when I'm stuck in a waiting room or car. Just looking at it makes me think of the sea and I feel calm.

All of the designs/moulds are created by Serena herself too, so you really are getting something unique. The prices & shipping policies are very reasonable coming from Australia, making it easy for you to purchase more than one *wink* I just adore them all, as everything is so different & fun, do you have a favourite!?!

If you would like to see more of Serena's treasures, you can visit her shop and also stop by her facebook page too. Have a marvellous Monday my beauties!

My Questions

1. A talent or skill, you would like to have and why?
Hmmm...to play the violin, adore this instrument!

2. Are you a morning person or an evening person?
Depends on how much sleep I've had. I can be both. But, I don't like being woke up much before it's time, haha!

3. What is one word your friends would use to describe you?
Oooh..I have no idea...strange maybe, haha!

4. What is one goal that you have not yet met, but are working to achieve?
Hmm...in life, see more places in the world that I haven't seen yet, like Spain, parts of France & lots of others. And for this blog, I guess to continue to have it grow & be as creative, different & expressive as it can be.

5. Who do you admire the most?
People who stand up for what is right. People who go through hard times, but still have love in their hearts. People who make others feel good about themselves & those who are themselves & accept others as they are.

6. What did you want to become when you were a child?
A Superhero, I already had my costume made, lol!

7. If any character from a movie/tv show could be your best friend, who would you want it to be and why?
Daenerys Targaryen, because she's a strong & good women & I love strong women. Plus, she has dragons, I want a dragon too :)

8. What do you do to pamper yourself?
Take a warm bath with my favourite bath products, put on my favourite clothes, play my favourite music, eat my favourite foods.

9. Who was your first celebrity crush?
Bowie, from his music to his movies. The first time I saw him in Labyrinth, I would have given both of my sisters over to live in the Castle with him, haha. I've always admired his ability to change into anything he wanted to at any time & not care what anyone else said. Many people these days like to put themselves in one box or category & I'd freak out doing that. I like to expand, create & learn.

10. If you could go anywhere in the world for the next hour, where would you go?
Hmmm...Versailles.

11. What is one tradition your family has at Christmas time?
We always read the Bible before we open our presents & give thanks for them.

~ Now some of my Christmas Pressies. A couple vintage ones & modern pieces as well. All are dresses & one is a jacket ~

~ The Books were Christmas Pressies & the rest was bought in the sales ~

10 Things I love...

Happy Wednesday dolls, I hope it's a gorgeous one for you!! Back on Friday to show you some things I got for Christmas :)

1. Watching old movies when it rains like Labyrinth & Legend - my favourites growing up! I NEEDED to be in these movies growing up. I watched them relentlessly, their still among my favourites. Plus Legend had a Unicorn in it...Love Unicorns <3

2. Flower Crowns or over-sized flowers on your head. Flower child that I am, I used to wear flower crowns a lot, but haven't in a long time. So, I think I need to bring this back & the thought of having an over-sized one on my head makes me feel all Alice in Wonderland like, I love it!

3. Pretty Coloured Hair & Glitter - Sometimes I'd like pastel coloured hair or some kind of colour going through my hair, not necessarily the colour in this, I just loved the picture, but some colour that suits :) Oh & I always have time for glitter ;-)

4. The excitement of waiting for your favourite shows to come back on, like Game of Thrones! Tyrion is my favourite character, he always has something sarcastic to say back, I love him!!

5. Crazy Sunglasses...these are so fun & they'd be perfect with all my dresses :)

6. Sweet pastel Fish...I just think these are precious. I can even imagine having a dark coloured room & these being the only light coloured things in there. I'd also like some electric blue fish or an electric blue day gecko :)

7. Miss Etoile - to have a big tea party & everyone would be invited of course. The eyelashes are the loveliest!

8. Jumping - Something I've always wanted to do, but haven't. Just stand on the edge of the cliff, let go and jump in the water. Where it's safe to do this of course ;-)

9. Bright Lipstick - I've usually worn lipgloss or colours that sort of blend in with my skin tone, but I'm in the mood for something more bright and stand out-ish! I quite like the bright pink at the bottom in the middle and the lilac :) But, I'll have to see what works best for me. These are from Lime Crime!

10. When someone you & your friends had a crush on in high-school wins an award & you instantly remember the picture of him hanging in your locker & that time you randomly met him on a school trip in Chicago with friends after My So-called Life ended! Though, I have seen him again since then with his band 30 Seconds to Mars. He's very polite & an incredible talent, I admire that he takes on different things & goes after his dreams!
